Alexander 'Alex' Moran

Born In: Inverness, Canada

Passed in: Judique
Passed on: August 22nd, 2014

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our dear brother Alexander Andre (Alex) Moran, age 67, on August 22, 2014 in Judique, N.S.
Born in Inverness, he was the son of the late Edward and Margaret (Beaton) Moran.
Alex was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in Glencoe. He was a devoted member of the church and served as an usher. He worked in the coal mines in New Waterford for 15 years. When he moved to St. Ninian’s, he worked in the forestry industry until his death. No matter what his employment, he was known to be a dedicated and hard worker.
One of Alex's most admirable qualities was his ability to be a true and faithful friend. He had a knack for making people laugh with his jokes and storytelling. For Alex, there was nothing better than a good home cooked meal. He thoroughly enjoyed his Saturday trips to dinner after mass with his brother Daniel and cousin Angus. He had a great love for animals especially his dog Chester who will sorely miss his companion.
Surviving are siblings, Daniel, Sam (Susan), Mary (Gary) Mueller, Teresa (Mike) Gillis, Edna (Kevin) Bisson, Sandra (Joe) Burke, Irene (Tony) Mozvik. Alex is also survived by nieces and nephews, Wes and Angus Moran, Patrick, Michael and Kathleen Moran, Eddie and Natalie Mueller, Michael and Matthew Gillis, Curtis and Jolene MacSween, Joanna, Melissa and Jessica Bisson, Nicholas and Cody Burke and Jillian Mozvik, several grandnieces and nephews as well as brother-in-law, Joseph MacSween and sister-in-law, Rhonda Moran. Also surviving are aunts, Theresa MacDonnell, Kay Brady, Elizabeth Beaton and Mary Jessie Beaton.
Besides his parents, Alex was predeceased by sister, Margaret MacSween and, in infancy, Colin, Joseph and Willena.
Visitation for Alex will take place at the Glencoe Hall from 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014. A funeral mass of celebration will be held Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph 's Church in Glencoe with Fr. Bernie MacNeil officiating.
Family flowers only, memorial donations maybe made in Alex’s memory to St. Joseph’s Church.
