Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family on Saturday August 23, 2014 at the Palliative Care Unit, L.A. Miller Centre, Martin Patrick Ryan, age 72 years. He is predeceased by his parents Thomas and Rita Ryan, and his siblings Frank, Bob, Marcel, Fred, Geraldine and Mary. Martin leaves to mourn his loving wife Mary Lou (Hudson) and their children Sherry Ryan (Randy), Rick Ryan (Janice), Curtis Churchill (Betty), Tony Churchill (Jackie), and Joanne Sinnott (Mick). His grandchildren Aaron, Sarah, Richard, Christina, Michael, Christopher, Rhiannan, Samantha, Marcus, Natasha and great grandson Aiden will always keep memories of Poppy Ryan in their hearts. Brothers and sisters left to mourn are Randy (Bridie), Danny (Linda), Michael (Kim), Gerald Ryan, Margie, Rose, and sister in law Jeannie Ryan (Marcel). Martin will also be missed by his extended family Mother-in-law Olive Hudson, Dorothy Hudson (Earl), Renee Allen (Bill), Elizabeth Hudson, Ted Hudson (Janice), Olive Bursey (Bruce), Philip Hudson (Marilyn), Jim Hudson (Dorothy), Claudette Noel (Rick) and special friend Fred Field. Martin also leaves many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Philip and Marilyn Hudson, Renee Allen, and Margie Fitzgerald who provided endless support and love over the past three years, and to Dr. Norman, the staff of the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre and the Palliative Care Unit, L. A. Miller Centre. Cremation has taken place. Family will be receiving family and friends at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, August 25th and Tuesday, August 26th. Private family burial to take place at a later date. Martin was a joy to everyone he encountered in life. He loved to bring happiness, especially to children, through his compassionate and kind nature. In lieu of flowers, donations in Martins memory may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation.
