It is with great sadness that the family of Robert (Bob) Charles Parrott announce his passing, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Bob is predeceased by parents Raymond and Marion (Hindy), brothers Irvin and Lorne and sons Brian and un-named twin of Ron. He leaves to mourn: his loving wife and best friend of 58 years, Evelyn (Howell); sons Glenn (Ann Marie), Ron (Deborah) and Ray (Robin); grandchildren Matthew, Kristen, Robert, Ronnie, Melissa, Lindsay, Jaime, Alexander, Amanda, Katie and great-grandchildren Gracie, Noah and Parker. Also leaving to mourn, brother Bill (Dora), sisters Ethel (Mac Frampton, deceased), Agnes (Roy Cumby) and Ann (Wilson Hiscock), sisters-in-law Lillian and Eileen, brother-in-law Ron Howell and many special nieces and nephews. A kind and gentle soul who loved the company of others, Bob shared his life with a large circle of wonderful friends who will miss his laughter, stories, music and late-night card games. Bob began his teaching career at fifteen in a one-room school in Thoroughfare and through the years touched the lives of thousands throughout this province as a teacher, school principal and district superintendent. Special thanks to the nurses and staff at the Dr. L.A. Miller Center for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre. We will miss you Bobby, but are comforted in knowing you are now at peace and reunited with loved ones. Visitation will take place on Tuesday August 26th, 2014 from 2 pm- 9 pm at Barrett's Funeral Home, 382 Hamilton Avenue. Funeral service will be held at Barrett's Funeral Chapel, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Wednesday August 27th, 2014 at 1 pm, interment will follow at Winterton United Cemetery.
