Kenneth Robert Stuart

Stuart, Kenneth Robert – 81 of Truro passed away on Friday, August 22, 2014 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in St. Stephen, NB on October 27, 1932 to Percy and Ethel (Matheson) Stuart. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Arlene (Moore), son, Rob (Danielle Johnson), daughter, Allison (John Richards), grandsons, Michael and Kyle and granddaughter, Katelyn. He was predeceased by a sister Mary (in infancy) and step-mother Lily (Wilkins) Stuart. Ken started his career with the Bank of Nova Scotia in 1951 in Campbellton, NB which led to numerous transfers throughout the Atlantic provinces. It is when he took employment with IAC that led him to Truro, NS in 1969. In 1978 he made a change to the Auto Industry and purchased what was known as Stuart Pontiac Buick and worked there until his retirement in 2008. Over the years Ken belonged to the Lions Club, Kinsmen Club and Gyro Club. He was an avid supporter of Truro Minor Hockey, Truro Bearcats and the Truro School Band. After his retirement he enjoyed spending his winters in Embassy Park, Clearwater, Florida and summers at Shortts Lake. A special thanks to the Medical Staff on 2-East of CEHHC for the compassionate care during his stay there and to Donna and Ron Roach for their help and support. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 28 from 1 pm until time of the memorial service at 2 pm, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. John Matheson officiating. Interment at Terrace Hill Cemetery, Kaulback Street. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, CEHHC Hospital Auxiliary or a charity of choice.
