Margaret Urquhart

Urquhart, Margaret Florence, 79, Murray Siding, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, August 24, 2014 in Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Beatrice (McCarthy) Teed and raised by her grandmother the late Myrtle Teed. She was a founding member of the Salmon River Fire Hall Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the McCulloch United Church, Harmony-Camden. She is survived by her companion, Donald “Don” March; sons, Walter (Debbie Clark), Masstown, Mark (Colleen), North River; step-sons, David March (Margaret), Kevin March (Barbara), Amherst; step-daughters, Patricia (Joel) Campbell, Lower Sackville, Barbara March (Lee Gillis), The Falls, Karen (Greg) Prisbois, Moncton NB, Joanne (Marty) Babineau, Riverview NB; sisters, Shirley Walsh, Quispamsis NB, Barbara (Eric) Dunlop, Saint John NB; 3 grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; 2 great-great step- grandchildren; special aunt, Della Loughead, Berwick; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil; 1 granddaughter; step-son, Robert March. Visitation will be held 7-9pm Tuesday, August 26, and funeral service 4pm Wednesday, August 27, all in the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro, Rev. Morley Bentley officiating, with interment to follow in the Harmony Cemetery, Harmony. A reception will then be held in the Salmon River Fire Hall in Salmon River. Family flowers only. Donations in Margaret’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
