It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carole Marie MacAulay, age 71 of Sydney on Monday, Aug. 25, 2014 at home.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Julia (Miecznik) Jockemeck.
Carole worked for many years with Revenue Canada as a collections clerk. She was a lover of horse racing and it was her passion to participate in racing at the Tartan Downs with her late husband Norman, as they owned several horses. She was a loving person and her grandchildren were the light of her life. Carole enjoyed her get togethers with her ‘Ya Ya’ group.
Carole is survived by her sons Randy Cormier, St. John, Nfld.; Joel (Nancy) Cormier, Sydney; sister, Paula Galbraith, Sydney; brother, Joseph ‘Joe’ (Norma) Jackemeck, Kingston, Ont.; grandchildren, Travis, Carys Cormier and Matthew, Julie, Alyssa Cormier; niece, Erica LeDrew and nephews, Kevin and Paul Jackemeck and Tyler Galbraith.
She was predeceased by her husband, Norman MacAulay in 2007 and twin siblings in infancy.
Visitation for Carole MacAulay will take place on Friday from 7-9 p.m. at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Polish Church with Rev. Paul Murphy officiating. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
