CORMIER, CAMILLE “CAM” - Camille “Cam” Cormier, 72, of Moncton, passed away on Tuesday August 26, 2014 at the Moncton Hospital.
Born June 14, 1942 in Moncton, he was the son of the late Emile and Léonie (Cormier) Cormier. Prior to his retirement in 1999, Cam was a firefighter with the Moncton Fire Department with 25 years service. He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Parkton Golden Age Club, and enjoyed spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed attending court sessions at the Moncton Court House. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Marguerite (Nowlan); three children: Trevor of Fort McMurray, Tina of Moncton and Tammy (Marc) Niles of Moncton; eight grandchildren: Rémi, René, Haley, Darcie, Ryan, Devin, Megan and Dylan; several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of her immediate family. He was predeceased by his sisters and brothers: Gérard, Thérèse, Roméo, Normand, Bernard, Louis, Patrice, infant Camile and Lucille.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900). Visiting hours Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, and Friday from 10 am until departure (10:45).
The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Roman Catholic church, 854 Mountain Road, Moncton on Friday August 29, 2014 at 11 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe.
