Lester Warren Sawler - 92, formerly of Cambridge, Kings County, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014 in Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in Cambridge, he was a son of the late Alonzo and Ella (Reese) Sawler. He had been employed as a farm hand and a carpentry helper in the Grafton and Welsford areas, as well as a custodian in the Cambridge schools. He was a member of the Cambridge United Baptist Church. He is survived by daughters, Erma (the late Carl) Blenus, Coldbrook; Mabel (Darrell) Chambers, Meisner's Section; Julieann (Bill) Russell, New Germany; Eva Rose (Henry Acker) Sawler, Springfield; sons, Emery (Carolyn Brown), Springfield; Lonnie (Christine), Wilmot; Ernie (Kim), Wilmot; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Sawler, Bridgewater; brother, Carl; 20 grandchildren, several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by daughter, Edith (1963); son, Scott (2010); son-in-law, Carl Blenus (2004); daughter-in-law, Shirley Sawler (2008); estranged wife, Louise (Reeves) Sawler (2014); grandsons, Jamie Prall (1988), Craig Sawler (2011), Michael Blenus (2012); granddaughter, Stephanie Acker (1980); siblings, Clayton, Iona, Stella, Ira, Lula, James, Rosie and Alonzo. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2014 in the Cambridge United Baptist Church, Reverend Darryl Dykens and Reverend Doctor Judith Saunders officiating. Burial will take place in the Cambridge Cemetery. A reception will follow in the church hall. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to Grand View Manor or the Cambridge United Baptist Church. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Grand View Manor for the tender loving care given to Lester over the past nine years.
