HICKS, IRENE MAUDE - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Irene Maude Hicks of Chipman, NB. Irene passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at the Oromocto Public Hospital on August 28th, 2014 at 79 years. Irene was born in Rothwell, NB on February 13th, 1935, daughter of the late Havelock and Verna Barton.
She is survived by her children, Heather (Jeff) Chisholm of Chipman, Cheryl (Harold) Lemon of Chipman and Debbie (David) Phillips of Saint John; sons, Wayne (Elaine) of Cumberland Bay, Kenneth of Chipman and Kevin of Chipman; brothers, Delbert Barton of Moncton and Calvin (Marion) Barton of Edmonton, AB; grandchildren, Randy, Sandra, Aaron and Jeffery Phillips, Bradley and Andrew Lemon, Danielle and Justin Hicks, Adam Chisholm; great-grandchildren, Emily, Liam and Benjamin Phillips, Kevin Hatt, Stephanie Edwards, Erin McKeil and Cynthia MacDonald; great-great-granddaughter, Sofia Greek; many neices and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Gerald, Son, Lawrence and brother, Eldon Barton.
A service of celebration will be held at the Chipman Funeral Home Chapel (339-6612) on Monday, September 1st, 2014 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Vincent Galbraith officiating. Family will receive comfort on Sunday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 pm. Interment will be made in The Range Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Range Cemetery Fund or the Barton Reunion would be greatly appreciated by the family.
