BRIGGS, STERLING E. - The passing of Sterling Emerald Briggs of Hamtown Corner, NB occurred at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on August 28 2014. He was 69. Born at Beaver Dam, NB on January 2, 1945, he was a son of the late Shirley and Amy (Nason) Briggs. Sterling was affiliated with the Baptist Church was retired from L. E. Shaw Brick after 25 years of service. Sterling is survived by his wife of 47 years, the former Bernice A. Price; two sons, John Briggs of McAdam and Stephen Briggs (Sherry) of Royal Road; one daughter, Melissa Briggs (Ferdinand St.-Coeur) of Neguac, NB; eight grandchildren, Brayden, Selena, Amy, Jonathan, Ann Marie, Candice, Jake and Andrew; two great-grandchildren, Brihanna and Lawrence; three brothers, Glen (Mary) and Norman (Helene) both of BC and Archie Randall of Nevers Road; two sisters, Loretta Gibson (Gerry) and Debbie Briggs both of BC; nieces, nephews; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Price; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Besides his parents, Sterling was predeceased by a sister, Joan Reid and brothers, Chester and Lester.
Visitation will be held at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, on Tuesday September 2, 2014 from 12 noon until 2:00 PM. followed by a funeral service from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Laurie Fenerty officiating. Memorial contributions to the Children’s Wish Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
