LEGASSIE, REGINALD GILBERT - It is with deep sadness and regret that the family of Reginald Gilbert LeGassie announces his passing on August 28th, 2014 at the Oromocto Publc Hospital. Reginald was born in Fredericton, NB, on October 17th, 1937 and was the son of the late Thomas and Kathleen (O'Leary) LeGassie. Reginald had been employed as a Fire Fighter in the Town of Oromocto for several years. After retiring from the Fire Department he worked seasonally with the Department of Transportation. Reginald enjoyed gardening, processing maple syrup, walking, playing cards and telling stories. Reginald is survived by his wife, Sandra (Phillips) LeGassie of Oromocto; son, Jamie LeGassie (Louise) of Ontario; daughter, Patty LeGassie (Norm Ferris) of Prince William; step grandchildren, Jonathan Worrall (Anna) and Josh Worrall (Samantha) of Ontario; one great grand daughter, Isabella Worrall of Ontario; and his sister, Pauline Carr of Geary. Reginald was predeceased by his brothers, Alden, Gerald and Douglas; and sisters, Jeanette, Avis and Doreen.
Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home on Sunday, August 31st, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, September 1st at 2 pm with Rev. Drew Mersereau officiating. Interment will be in Oromocto Pioneer Gardens. A reception at the Oromocto Funeral Home will follow.
