Hanes: Elton Wynn, of Truro, passed away peacefully on Sunday in Cedarstone Enhanced Care Facility, Truro. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Stan and Kathleen (Wynn) Hanes. Elton owned and operated Stan Hanes transfer Ltd., Truro. He was a member of the Golden Age Antique Car Club, Truro, and was an avid fan of the Truro Junior A. Bearcats Hockey Team and especially his grandson No. 11. He was a member St. Andrew’s United Church Truro, and a member of the Fundy Trail Snowmobile Club.
He is survived by sons, Stan (Holly), Bedford, Mike (Patti), Truro; grandchildren, Lauren, Jenna, Mark, Matthew and Jeffrey; brother-in-law Junior (Smith) Loughead.
He was predeceased by his wife the former Florence Marie Hall; sister Kathleen Loughead.
Visitation will be held 7-9 pm Friday, Sept. 5th, and funeral service 2pm Saturday, Sept. 6th, all in the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro. Rev. Jay Ettinger will officiate with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Robie Street Cemetery, Truro. Family flowers only. Donations in Elton’s memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
