LANE, WILLIAM F. - William Frederick Lane, 69, of Dieppe, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at The Moncton Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born August 24, 1945 in Moncton, he was the son of the late Judge William F. and Mary (Boudreau) Lane. He retired in 2010 from Purolator Courier following 27 years of service. Bill will be remembered for being devoted to his dear family and friends and also putting his heart and soul into his beloved camp (his oasis). Last, but not least he had an amazing ability to always make us laugh, and put a smile on everyone’s face. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia née McDonald; three sons: William of Moncton, Christopher (Shirley) of Toronto, and Timothy (Jeannie) of Lethbridge, AB; his step-son, Shane Gillis of Edmonton; his step-daughter, Shelley Gillis of Moncton; his twin sister Marilyn Lane of Moncton, seven grandchildren: Ashley, Brittney, Courtney, Matthew, Colton, Kaitlyn, and Akira; a great-grandson, Liam; and a brother-in-law; Ken Little of Moncton. Nieces, Bev, Karen, Patty and nephew Bob. Besides his parents, hissister, Eileen Little predeceased him.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church, 43 Botsford Street, Moncton, of Friday, September 5, 2014 at 3 pm. No visitation at the funeral home. A reception will follow in the church hall. In memory of William, a contribution to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital (Oncology), Lupus Foundation or Extra Mural-NB would be appreciated.
