MacQUARRIE, ALICE E. “BETTY” - Alice E. “Betty” MacQuarrie, 84, of The Grass Home, Riverview and formerly of Acadia Ave. Dieppe, with her loving family by her side, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, August 31, 2014. Born in Chartersville she was the daughter of the late Walter and Gertrude (Charters) Furze. Betty retired from T. Eaton Co. Ltd, with 25 years of service and was a member of Central United Church. Surviving are daughters, Margaret “Margie” Moore (David) of Salisbury, Wendy Colpitts (Greg) of Cocagne, and son, Robert “Rob” MacQuarrie (Sandra) of Dartmouth, NS; grandchildren, Andy, Amy, Matthew, Trevor, Amanda, James and Mark; great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Jack, Maren, Nicholas, Katey, Sophie and Quinn; sister, Eva Northrup (Bob) and brother, Walter Furze (Ruth); several nieces nephews and extended family members. In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband Allan (Bud) MacQuarrie (2002), sisters, Anne Garside and Evelyn Simard; brother, Bob Furze. The Family would like to thank The Grass Home for the care given to Betty during her stay.
In keeping with Betty`s wishes, there will be no visitation hours. Private Family Graveside Service will be held on Friday, September 5, 2014 at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Reception for family and friends will follow the service at Margie and David`s Home, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), in care of arrangements.
