John William Turner

John William Turner was born on January 31, 1924 in Glentworth, Saskatchewan and passed away peacefully in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on August 30, 2014. John married Glenna Maureen Turner on April 10, 1971 and they resided in Moose Jaw until her passing on August 1, 2012. He was also predeceased by his father, Thomas and mother, Elizabeth, sister-in-law Margaret Turner and brother-in-law Alvin Wight. He is survived by his sister, Ruth Wight of Regina and brother, Howard Turner of Moose Jaw, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He worked on a construction crew until 1952 and then from 1952 to 1967 at C.P. Express. From 1967 till he retired, he worked at the Canadian National Defense Airbase Moose Jaw. He enjoyed working in his yard and was a bit of a handyman. The Funeral Service will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 11:00 am. Jim Atcheson will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the CNIB, 2250 Broad Street, Regina, S4P 9Z9.
