It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Lorna Stuhr on August 31, 2014 at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, SK at the age of 83 after prolonged illness. Lorna was born October 22, 1931 in Winnipeg, MB to William Gordon Hastings and Mable Louisa née Inch. Lorna will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Erwin (Tamara) Stuhr of Markham ON and Andrew Stuhr of Saskatoon; three grandchildren, Alexandra, Levi, and Dylan; her nieces Gloria (Gary) Simpson and Rhonda Hastings and close friends. Lorna was predeceased by her husband Harvey; parents William and Mable Hastings and two brothers, Douglas Richard Hastings and Lloyd Gordon Hastings. After graduating from University of Manitoba as a dietician, Lorna worked for Canada's Department of Fisheries. This allowed Lorna to travel around Canada when she met Harvey in PA. They were married in 1965 and remained so until Harvey's passing 46 years later. Lorna worked in PA at Victoria Hospital as a dietician before getting her education degree from University of Saskatchewan and becoming a teacher at Carlton High School until her retirement in 1993. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2014 at Grays Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK, with Pastor Dennis Serfas, Director Spiritual Care, Prince Albert Parkland Health Region officiating. Private Family Interment will be held. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to Victoria Hospital Foundation, 1200 - 24th Street West, Prince Albert, SK S6V 5T4.
