Marion "Marie" Peters

The death occurred, with family at her side, at the Beach Grove Home, on Monday, September 1, 2014, of Marion "Marie" Peters (nee Gallant), wife of the late Stephen (Joe Lamie) Peters, formerly of North Rustico, age 89. Marie was the wonderful mother of Stirling, deceased, (Linda), Dalis (Freda), Paula (Alan), Clifford and Floyd (Robert Jourdain); grandmother of Nicolas, Lindsay, Lydia, Shawna, Curtis, Stephanie, Ryan, Sarah and Luke; and great-grandmother of Daylin, Krew, Lily, Noah, Emerson, Leah, Colton, Avary and Eli. She is also survived by her brother, Wallace (Pat); sisters, Vera, Clara, Grace and Jean Gallant, Hazel LeClair, Guelda Cogger and adoptive sister, Velda Arsenault (Hector); sisters-in-law Irene Gallant and Evelyn Peters; brother-in-law, Ray Jonah; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her husband, Stephen, and son, Stirling, Marie was predeceased by her parents, Jeremiah (Jerry John) and Charlotte (Blacquiere) Gallant; adoptive parents, Paul and Maggie (Gallant) Blacquiere; brothers and sisters, Francis, Leo, Rita O’Connor (Len), Alvin Gallant (Dorothy) and Mary Gallant (Leo); adoptive brother, Ferdie Blacquiere (Eleanor); and brother-in-law Lawrence Gallant.
Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
The CWL will hold a prayer service at the funeral home Wednesday evening at 6:15 p.m.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, North Rustico, on Thursday, September 4, 2014, at 11 a.m. Interment in Stella Maris Cemetery. Due to severe allergies, please refrain from wearing scented products.
