Gregory John "Greg" Armsworthy

Armsworthy, Gregory John “Greg” – 40, Crowes Mills, Colchester County
It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Greg on August 29, 2014. Born in Truro on August 7, 1974, he was the youngest child of the late Donald and Irene (Dunlap) Armsworthy. Greg is survived by the love of his life, Marjanne Ord, Crowes Mills; sister Joann (Rick) Merritt, Crowes Mills and beloved brother, Doug Armsworthy, Bible Hill. He will be missed by several aunts and uncles. “Uncle Greg” was a favorite of several nieces and nephews. His stories would result in many hours of laughter. He also leaves behind several cousins of whom he valued as brothers and sisters. Special thoughts go out to Chevy Barnhill who Greg could often be heard saying, “That’s my best friend right there.” Greg liked to spend time in the outdoors, gardening, fishing, hunting or just a walk in the woods were favorite pastimes. A trek through nature had Greg exclaiming, “That’s the most beautiful thing I ever saw” on more than one occasion. He savored the beauty nature had to offer. Greg was also an animal lover who was never without a pet. He was especially fond of his dog, Bandit. Never one to shy from a challenge, Greg could be found building a fiddle or guitar one day and belting out “Wildwood Flower” the next. He was a self-taught “jack of all trades” whose employment history took him from work in the woods to Spectra Premium in Debert to presently being hired at Hinspergers in Truro. No visitation by request. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Greg will be held at Belmont Baptist Church on Friday, September 5 at 2 pm, Pastor Glen Ronson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, Truro where on-line condolences may be made at www.ColchesterCommunity.com
