CLEARY (WILCOX) Elsie May, 91 – Shubenacadie, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2014 at the Mira Care Centre, Truro. Born in Boylston, she was the daughter of the late Anne and John Wilcox. Mom became a war bride in 1942. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and homemaker, dedicating a lifetime of love to her family. She would knit the heavy merry-maxim sweaters and mittens and was also a skilled seamstress. Elsie loved nature and spent many hours bird-watching, picking wildflowers and working in the garden. She loved the countryside. Mom, you are going to be greatly missed by your family. She is survived by her children, Brian (Valerie), Bernie, Bernice (Bill), Wayne and daughter in-law Nancy; grandchildren Cheryl, Angie, Heidi, Debbie, Karen, Shawn and Lisa; 16 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Charles Leo and her eldest son Charles Leo Jr. Visitation will be held 7-9pm Thursday in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2 Shubenacadie. The funeral service will be take place at 10am Friday in St. Bridget’s Roman Catholic Church, Shubenacadie, Father Tom Kurudeepan O.M.I. officiating. The interment will take place in the parish cemetery. A reception will follow in the church hall. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
