Ruth Anderson

ANDERSON, RUTH - 1916 - 2014 - Peacefully on Sunday, August 31st, 2014, Ruth Anderson, of Golden Years Estates, and formerly of Peoples Park Tower, passed away at The Moncton Hospital at the age of 98. Born in Shediac, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Henrietta (Gauvin) MacArthur. Ruth was a beautiful spirit, inside and out. She was full of energy, a constant barrel of laughs, and was always happy with life’s simplest blessings. Ruth was an inspiration to so many and touched so many lives. In her early years, Ruth was a respected member of the CGIT (Canadian Girls in Training), in the 1930’s. She enjoyed fundraising and singing in concerts in Shediac. She helped to raise enough money to put lights in the schoolhouse. She loved swimming, singing, walking, boating, being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Ruth will be reunited with her angels in heaven, her daughter Shirley Deckert; her late husband, Roy Anderson; sisters, Louise Thompson, Margaret Gauthier, Flora LeBlanc, Doris McKenzie, Lillian Poirier and Patricia Wilson; two brothers, Percy and James MacArthur. Ruth was much loved and will be forever missed by her grandchildren, Kelly Clarke and Christine, Paul and Jesse Deckert; and her great-grandchildren, Tyson, Tyrell, Jenna, Brady, and Sienna; many nieces and nephews. Precious forever are memories of you, today, tomorrow, all life through. Just as you were, you’ll always be, treasured forever in my memory. Never to be forgotten.
In keeping with Ruth’s wishes, there will be no visitation hours. A Memorial Service for Ruth will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 10:00 am, with The Rev. Aaron Billard officiating. Refreshments following the service. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery at a later date. In Ruth’s memory, donations to a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
