HINCKLEY- Barbara Ann, age 80 of Brooklyn, Yarmouth County died at Yarmouth Regional Hospital on September 3, 2014. Born in Boston,Mass., the daughter of the late Clifford and Doris Richardson. She is survived by husband, Douglas (Bruce) , sons Gary and Randy, granddaughter, Melissa and brother Harold Richardson. She was predeceased by son, Steven. Barb was an LPN at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. She was an active member of the Brooklyn Women’s Institute and served on the boards of Parents Place, Yarmouth County Museum, SHYFT, Nova Scotia Women’s Institute and other organizations. She was the Provincial Volunteer of the year in 1997. Barb loved to knit and her hands were always busy. In the last year, she and Bruce also spent most evening at Tim Horton’s, usually sitting in the car where her many friends would stop to visit and chat. In spite of her declining health, she remained busy and involved with her many activities. The funeral service was held Monday, September 8, 2014 at 2:00pm from Sweenys Funeral Home Chapel, Yarmouth, Rev. Don Moses and Rev. A.D. Bill Newell officiated. There was no visitation by family request. Family flowers only. Special thanks to the Tri-County VON nurses, and the doctors and nurses at Yarmouth Regional Hospital.
