VAUGHAN, DOROTHY F. - It is with heavy hearts the family of the late Dorothy Frances Vaughan, wife of the late Murray Vaughan, announce her passing on Friday, September 5, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on December 19, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Ida (Burchill) Loughery. Dorothy graduated from St. Martin's High School in 1943. After marriage, she and Murray lived in Greenwich, CT, Sarnia, ON, Saint John, and then moved to Quispamsis in 1964. Dorothy taught briefly at Tynemouth Creek School, worked at Wasson's Drug Store in Saint John and then joined her husband in operating Vaughan Electronics. Dorothy was a member of the UCW, the Liberal Party, and various Seniors Clubs.
Survived by her sons, Paul (Lorie) of Quispamsis, and Richard of Toronto, brothers; Douglas Loughery (Joyce), and Arthur Loughery (Alma), sister Carl Ann Lalonde, grandchildren, Tricia (Chris Shannon), Ryan, and Michelle Vaughan, great-grandson, Cole Murray, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband of over 50 years and her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her brother Bill Loughery.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) with visiting on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral Service will be held at Quispamsis United Church on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Interment to take place at St. Martin's Cemetery.
