PORTER, MARIE and WILLIAM - It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our loving parents, Marie and William Porter on Monday, September 8th, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Marie was born on May 5th, 1927 in Cole Creek, NB, she was the daughter of the late Blair and Sarah (Bishop) McAllister. William “Bill” was born in April 20th, 1930 in Miramichi, NB he was the son of the late James and Mary (Bowes) Porter. Survived by Marie’s children, Bill’s step children; Carol of Fredericton, Geraldine (Jim) of Kingston, ON, Lillian of Fredericton, John of Toronto, ON, Wendy (Richard) of Yoho Lake, Jim (Glenda) of Bobcaygeon, ON and Gord (Jane) of Bobcaygeon, ON; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Marie is survived by one step-daughter, Grace (Russ) of Florida, US; brothers, Robert of Chipman, Reg (Irene) of Tracy, Jack of Jacket River, Russell of Chipman and Don of Chipman; as well as her sister, Shirley (Carey) of Chipman. Bill is survived by his brothers, Bob (Sarah) of Blissville and Reg (Lois) of Fredericton; sisters, Marie and Noreen of Fredericton. Marie and Bill were predeceased by their son-in-law, Ab, and daughter-in-law, Elsie. Marie was predeceased by her parents, Blair and Sarah; two stillborn children, Patrick and Mary; her brother, Ken; sisters, Franny, Leona, Muriel and Betty; and sister-in-law, Sharon. Bill was predeceased by his parents, James and Mary; and brothers in law, John and Royden.
Visitation will be held for Marie and William Porter at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Thursday, September 11th, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Dunstan’s Catholic Church on Friday, September 12th at 12:05 pm with Rev. Bill Brennan as celebrant. Interment will be in the Hermitage Cemetery.
