Ina Dolter of Corner Brook, passed away peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the age of 79, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born to the late Hubert and Alma Gillam in McKay’s, Newfoundland on March 26, 1935. Family and friends were Ina’s passion and joy. She enjoyed spending time at George’s Lake with all her cabin friends. She loved to entertain with her husband Earl, play Growl, tell stories, and just have a laugh. Besides her family, Ina’s other passion was her beautiful garden in Little Rapids. She loved to share its beauty with the many visitors who happened by. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons: Mike (Bev) and Sean (Kim Thistle); and her brother, Mel. With great sorrow, she was predeceased by her husband Earl and her daughter, Tina. Ina is also survived by her son-in-law Jerry George; grandchildren: Tyler, Devan, Alex (Meagan), Ashley, Jesse (Jean-Francois), and Zachary; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ina was also predeceased by her brothers Roy, Eric and Ches. Visitations will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Sunday, September 14 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Michael & All Angels Anglican Church, Park Drive on Monday, September 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m., with Reverend Canon Roberta Woodman officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Palliative Care Unit and would like donations made to the Unit as a tribute to the comfort and support they provided. Flowers will also be graciously accepted. The family guest gook may be signed or a memorial donations may be made by visiting our website at www.country-haven.ca .
