It is with heavy hearts the family of the late Maurice Francis Watson, known to most as 'Scoggy', announce his peaceful passing on Sept. 9, 2014, while at home surrounded by his family.
Born in North Sydney, Scoggy was the eldest son of the late Maurice and Reta (Asaph) Watson.
He was employed by Devco Marine Farming until 1984 when he then became owner/operator of Scoggy's Carpentry.
Scoggy is survived by his loving wife, Linda (Kirrane); son Kyle Francis; daughter Kerianne; his brothers, Barry and Garry along with his uncle Wilfred Asaph, aunt Kaye Robinson and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at Greenwood United Church with Rev. Allison Etter officiating. Following the service a reception will be held at the family home, 288 Shore Rd. All are welcome to attend. A private burial service will be held at a later date.
Family flowers only by request. To continue Scoggy's love of sailing with the next generation donations may be made to the Junior Sailing Program of the BYC in Baddeck.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of MacAskill Funeral Home, Baddeck.
