Willena Marie Blundon (née Williams), 53, of Dutch Brook, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at the Cape Breton Regional An Cala Palliative Care Unit in Sydney, N.S.
She was born Feb. 4, 1961, at the Buchanan Memorial Hospital in Neil’s Harbour, N.S., to Thomas and Lorraine Williams.
Willena lived a rich and full life. After working at the Neil’s Harbour Co-op for 20 years and raising three children, she returned to school to obtain a diploma in business administration from NSCC Marconi Campus, Sydney. During the past few years, Willena worked as an accountant at the Sydney Port Corporation.
Willena loved to garden, watch Corrie and do crossword and Sudoku puzzles, but most of all, she loved to spend time with her family and play with her grandkids.
Willena is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Blair Blundon, son Kevin (Serena) Blundon, daughters, Amanda (Anas) Williams and Gillian (Amine) Blundon, father Thomas Williams, mother Lorraine Williams, sisters, Virginia (Kenny) Dowling and Phyllis (Tony) Williams, brothers, Hubert (Christine) Williams, Jude Williams and Tony (Tracey) Williams, granddaughter Haya Outa Bachi, grandsons, Thomas McKinnon and Louay Outa Bachi, four aunts, two uncles, numerous cousins and nieces and nephews.
Willena was predeceased by paternal grandparents Hubert and Alice (Strickland) Williams, maternal grandparent George and Willena (Fitzgerald) MacKinnon, and her beloved uncle Stewart Williams.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney.
The family requests that no flowers be sent, and that donations be forwarded to the An Cala Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
