Charles R. MacLean of St. John's, N.L. and formerly of Louisbourg, N.S., passed away very peacefully at St. Clare's Hospital in St .John's, N.L. with his sister Cathy by his side.
Charles was born on Aug. 10, 1955, in Sydney, N.S. He was the son of the late Neil and Elsie (Bagnell) MacLean of Louisbourg, N.S.
After graduating with his chemical engineering degree his job led him to various places where he finally settled in St. John's for the past 25 plus years.
Charles loved his life in St. John's where he met some wonderful caring friends and great co-workers. Many stories were told at Charles's Celebration of Life held at the home of Charles cousin David and his wife Colleen Bussey of St. John's, N.L.
Charles is survived by his three siblings Jean (Doug) Dunbar, John A. all of Calgary, Cathy (Davey) Wadden of Catalone, N.S. He is also survived by his four nieces and nephew Charlene (Nick) Lahey, Heather and Nicole Wadden, Megan MacLean and John Dunbar, all of Calgary. Also surviving him are his many close cousins and aunts.
Charles was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Rod and Margaret MacLean and maternal grandparents Charles and Helen Bagnell.
A celebration of Charles life will be held on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the First United Church, Main Street, Louisbourg, N.S.
Reception to follow at Davey and Cathy 's bungalow on Mira Bay Drive, Catalone Gut, N.S.
