It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Linda Ivany after a courageous battle with cancer at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Palliative Care Unit in the loving arms of her husband on Saturday, September 13, 2014, at the age of 63 years. Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, sister in law and friend. She was predeceased by her daughter Holly Evans; birth mother Sadie Nippard; mother and father Marie and Edmund Walsh; grandparents Helen and Edward Carter. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Austin Ivany; son Scott (Angelique) of Grande Prairie, AB; son in law Shawn Evans of Swift Current, SK; grandchildren: Brady and Carter Evans, Abigail and Austin Ivany Jr; siblings: Ellen (Gregory) Terry, Edward (Joanne) Walsh of Corner Brook, Frank (Holly) Walsh of Massey Drive and Karen (Kevin) Harris of Conception Bay South; brother in law: Irving (Carolyn) Ivany; sisters in law: Minnie (Albert) Warren, Myrtle (Don) Bursey all of Corner Brook, Sarah (Joseph) Birro of Toronto, ON, Maxine (Ross) Lee of Bridgewater, NS, Diane (Bill) Ivany of Pasadena, and also numerous other relatives including half-sisters and half-brothers, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and many special friends. Linda loved life and enjoyed many happy years with her loving and caring husband Austin. Linda’s family was her life and upon Austin’s retirement spent much time visiting with her children and grandchildren. Through the internet, Linda connected daily to watch and enjoy the day to day activities of her beloved family. The family will be receiving friends at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Monday September 15, between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Linda’s life will take place on Tuesday September 16, from St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church, Park Drive at 10:30 a.m., officiated by Reverend Canon Roberta Woodman. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations may be made in Linda’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Palliative Care Unit.
