Passed away suddenly at his summer cottage on Saturday, September 13th, 2014. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 57 years Elossie (Rose), son Dr. David Parsons, daughter in-law Dr. Laurie Parsons, precious grandchildren Kathryn and Ian all of Calgary, Alberta. Sisters Isabel (Roy) Fiander, Emily MacDonald, Brothers in-law, Max Rose, Clyde Rose, James (Karin) Rose. Sisters in-law, Audrey (Lindsay) and Maisie (Lou) Wallace. Also leaving with cherished memories are a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Dr. Parsons received his Master's degree and Doctorate in administration from the University of Toronto. He spent over forty years in Canadian Education, including positions of Teacher, Principal, District School Supervisor, Lecturer and Researcher, University of Toronto and department Head and Professor the department of Educational administration at Memorial University of Newfoundland. The family would like to add a special thank you to Arch Deacon David Pilling and Dr. Roger Butler for their care and guidance over the years. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Tuesday September 16, 2014 from 7 - 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral Service will be held on Thursday September 18, 2014 at 11 a.m. from St. Augustine's Anglican Church. Inurnment to follow at Forest Road Anglican Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Memorial University Faculty of Education.
