DAVIS, DORIS - Doris Marina (Webber) Davis passed away peacefully on September 15, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Hiram and Nellie (Morash) Webber. Born in Nova Scotia she started teaching in country schools and then was employed with the Dept. of National Defense. When her children were school-aged she worked in retail management for 17 years. Doris enjoyed sports, golfing, walking and hockey games. She also enjoyed playing bridge with dear friends. An active member of the St. John’s Anglican Church, she was an ACW and Alter Guild member until the time of her illness. Survived by her daughters, Janice (Stuart) Ward, Halifax, Shawna Downey, Moncton, and sons, Alan Davis, Bangkok, Brian (Amber), Vancouver. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Rachel, Alec, Hannah, Lindsay, Adam, Neil, Mason and Meryn. Also survived by siblings Phyllis, Shirley, Sherman, Harley, Ronnie. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband William "Bill" Davis and siblings, Erma, Nelda and Clifford.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation. A Memorial service will be held at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, 28 Woolridge St., Riverview, on Thursday September 18, 2014 at 1:00 pm. The family will be receiving friends following the service at the reception in the church hall. Interment will take place in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date. Donations in Doris’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements entrusted to Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton, (506) 852-3530.
