GODFREY, JOAN - With sadness the family announces the passing of Joan Louise Godfrey, wife of the late Bill Godfrey, which occurred on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born 1938 in Liverpool Queens Co., NS, she was the daughter of the late Sydney and Estella (Mouzer) Wharton, formerly of Liverpool, NS. Joan was a kind woman who loved cats, playing 45’s at St. Ann’s and St. Joachim’s Church, bowling and chatting with the “gang” from Robar Court. She will be greatly missed by her daughters Joanne Godfrey (Ron) and Teresa Godfrey; granddaughter Kayla Godfrey; grandson DJ Godfrey and great-grandson Malakai Godfrey; sister Janet (David) Pottie of Bridgewater, NS; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by her brother Laurie Wharton.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424). Upon request of Joan, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
