BAIN- Douglas Clayton- age 90, of the Meadow’s Home for Special Care, passed away at the Meadow’s on September 14, 2014. Born in Pembroke, Yarmouth Co., he was a son to the late Leslie and Alice Bain. Douglas was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who loved his family dearly. His wife Mineva was the light of his life whom he cared for and loved more than anything. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed trout fishing. In his spare time he could be found playing guitar and harmonica. Doug was also a member of the Sandford Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife Mineva (Doucette), Yarmouth; daughters, Karen Bain, Yarmouth; Becky Therian, Pictou; son, Greg Bain, Melbourne; sister, Joyce Buzet, 7 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was predeceased by sons, Scott and Larry; brothers, Clare, Burnley, Gerald, and Carl. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was held Tuesday, September 16, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home South Room. A funeral service was held Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 10 a.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Scott MacDonald officiated. Interment followed in Pembroke Cemetery.
