Jane Isabell (Auld) Johnson, 90 of Ivey’s Terrace Nursing Home, Trenton formerly of Mount William and MacPherson’s Mills, passed away September 16, 2014 at the home.
Born in Mulgrave, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Jane (Murray) Auld.
She was a former choir member of the Union Presbyterian Church, Thorburn and the MacPherson’s Mills Women’s Institute.
She is survived by her daughter Lorna (Charlie) DeCoste, Mount William; a son Robert “Bob” (Judy), Mineville, Halifax County; grandchildren: Carol Chabassol, Betty Jo Cowan, Ritchie Purvis, Shawn Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Anjela Allan, Terry DeCoste; 13 great-grandchildren; a son-in-law Sterling “Dick” Purvis.
She was predeceased by her husband Alvin Wallace “Wally” Johnson, an infant son John Wallace, and a daughter Joan Purvis.
Cremation to take place.
The family will receive visitors from 7-9 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Saturday, both at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Lackie presiding. A reception to follow in the funeral home. A private family committal service will be held following the reception at the MacPherson’s Mills Cemetery.
Family flowers only. Donations in Jane’s memory may be made to Union Presbyterian Church, Thorburn, the church choir or to a charity of one’s choice.
At this time the family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Ivey’s Terrace Nursing Home for the wonderful care shown to Jane.
