Mulhern, Allan Edward – of Meyronne, SK., passed away peacefully at age 69 with his family by his side on Friday, September 5, 2014 at the Cypress Regional Hospital following a brief illness. Al was predeceased by his parents Harold and Hilda, his older brother Jim, and a brother who died in infancy. He is survived by his wife Cecilia of Meyronne; his daughter Tara and son-in-law Ross Davidson and his cherished grandchildren Ash, Cameron and Jaime Rose, all of Ponteix; his sister Evelyn (Nick) Pidhorney of Yorkton and brother John of Vanscoy; numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. The youngest of his family, Al was born July 13, 1945 at Lafleche, SK. He grew up on the family farm south of Meyronne, started school at Bellemuire School, later attended Meyronne Public School, and graduated from Kincaid Central. Al had a passion for agriculture and farming and was a proud University of Saskatchewan Agro, earning his Degree in Agricultural Economics in 1970. He worked in many capacities for Saskatchewan Agriculture and especially enjoyed his work as an Ag Rep in the southwest. Al and Cecilia were married in Saskatoon in 1978, and lived in Swift Current while he worked for Saskatchewan Agriculture and farming. In the early 1980’s, Al and Cecilia chose to farm full-time at Meyronne, and set up a beautiful new farmstead shortly after their daughter was born in 1983. Al particularly enjoyed making hay and had many domestic and international hay-hauling and marketing ‘adventures.’ Al was an avid reader and also enjoyed the stock market, farm record-keeping, word puzzles, and most importantly spending time with his three young grandchildren. Al will be fondly remembered by his family and a very diverse group of friends. Funeral Service was held Tuesday, September 9, 2014 in the Glencaid United Church, Kincaid, SK with Reverend Linda Tomlinson-Seebach officiating. Tribute was delivered by daughter, Tara, readers were Tracey Kuffner and Bonnie Wilson, and pianist was Sherry Sproule. Pallbearers were: Dale Schwab, Guy Monette, Brian Taylor, Garth Taylor, Calvin Gavelin and Lance LaFountain. Private Interment took place at the Meyronne Cemetery, Meyronne, SK. Donations in memory of Al can be made to the Dr. Noble Irwin Regional Healthcare Foundation at 2051 Saskatchewan Drive, Swift Current, SK, S9H 0X6.
