Raymond Leger

LEGER, RAYMOND "RAY" P. - It is with heavy hearts that the family of Raymond (Ray) Leger announce his passing on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the Moncton Hospital with family members at his side, after a brief illness. Ray was born in Moncton in 1936; he was the son of late Edouard and Dina (LeBlanc) Leger. Ray grew up, and settled after marriage, in the Parkton area of Moncton where he and his wife happily raised their two children. An avid sport fisherman, Ray will be remembered as a dedicated and passionate umpire and referee, both of which he enjoyed from his youth until into his sixties. Ray worked at the Co-op on Record Street and then on Mapleton Road for many years and always had a warm smile for his customers. Raymond is survived by his wife Pauline (Goguen) Leger of 52 years, and his two children Michel Leger (Gérald) of Toronto, and Nicole Carter (Steve) of Moncton, and his grand-daughters Morgan and Taylor Carter. Raymond is also survived by his sisters Catherine Gallant (late Eddy), Claudette Robichaud (Ronald), and Rita Powers (Joey), his brother-in-law Ivan Goguen (Diane), sisters-in-law Ellen Goguen and Doris Leger, as well as extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, Ray was predeceased by three brothers, François, Hector and Arcade; one sister, Norma Murray.
