MACKIE, WILLIAM RONALD - William R. Mackie 82, of Moncton, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2014. Born in Mimico, Ontario, he was the son of the late Peter and Lilian Mackie (Brisley). Bill was a retired District Manager with Geneso. A lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed fishing and gardening and was happiest when surrounded by his large family. Bill will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years Shirley Jean (Meecham) Mackie, daughters; Judy Rossetti (Lou), Brenda Smith (Fenton), Deborah Hoferichter (Klaus), Kimberley Courtney (John) all of Moncton, and Victoria Lombardi (Gabe) of Ottawa, Also left with fond memories are brother John Mackie, 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother Peter.
Visitation will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Monday, September 22, 2014 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 2:00pm. A Masonic Service will be held by the Coverdale Lodge # 52 F&AM. In honour of all of his four legged friends, past and present, donations can be made to the SPCA.
