The death occurred on Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at his home in Cornwall, of Michael Joseph Ness, veteran of the Second World War, formerly of Borden and Summerside, age 96. Michael is survived by his wife, Moira Burke; daughters, Margaret Doyle and Elizabeth Ness (John McCurdy); and sons, Michael (Karen), David (Pat) and Paul (Christine). He was the grandfather of Margie MacNeill (Leo Hanregan), Paula (Joey) Toombs, Karen (Roger) Wightman, Willie (Germaine) Doyle and Russell (Buffy) Doyle; Erin, Liam and Kirsten Ness; Carrie and Katie Ness; and Monica Ness. He is also survived by seven great- grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Brigid McDaid; sons, Willie and Robert; and grandson, Colin. Resting at Father Claire Macdonald Lounge of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Cornwall for visitation on Friday, January 2, 2009, from 3-6 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, January 3, 2009, at 10 a.m. Interment in St. Peter’s Church Cemetery, Seven Mile Bay.
