It is with great sadness that the family of the late Nonie Porter announce her peaceful passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Palliative Care Unit on Wednesday, September 24th, 2014 at the age of 83 years. She leaves to mourn with loving memories, her daughters: Pauline Rose (Guy) and Darlene Thornton (Howie); her sons: Bill (Shirley), Don (Bernadette), Paul, Terry (Sharon), Tom (Karen), Jerry (Kelly) and Michael. Nonie was a loving grandmother to Kim, Billy, Angie, Anthony, Jodi, Dion, Justin, Cassidy, Wendy, Michelle, Kelly, Terry, Joshua, Jenna, Kara, Colin, Oliver, Nicola and Colbee; as well she leaves to mourn her 11 great grandchildren; son-in-law Tony Basha; sister Lorrie Hoffman (Pete); sisters-in-law: Kay and Shirley Musseau; brother-in-law Lloyd Johnston and her many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon (1983), daughter Diane Basha (2013), granddaughter Paula Rose (1997), great grandson Andrew Turpin (2013), her parents Benjamin and Julia Musseau, brothers: Rendell (Nora), Charles (Angela), Harry and Doug; sisters: Sadie Gushue (William), Elizabeth Brake (Bill), Evelyn Johnston and Frances Musseau. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street Saturday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held Sunday, September 28th at 2:00 pm at the Memorial United Church, Curling Street with Pastor Wendy Lowden officiating, followed by cremation. The interment service will be Monday, September 29th at 2:00 pm at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society www.cancer.ca or the Canadian Diabetes Association www.diabetes.ca .
