New Glasgow - Ann Elizabeth Carpenter. Mary Ellen, Joan, Nancy and Tom sadly announce the passing of Mom on September 26, 2014. Born on May 26, 1919, Mom was the daughter of Mary Ellen (Farrell) and Daniel Steele. Mom was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and sister. She was a teacher, avid reader, problem solver, lifelong learner and a faith filled woman. Ann E. is survived by children: Mary Ellen, Joan, Nancy (Miro) and Tom (Cathy); grandchildren: Mary Ellen (Steve), Morgan (Krista), Patrick (Jess), Tim (Jordyn), Katie (Jeff); great grandchildren: Steven, Derek, Ean, Lachlan, Marissa, Callum and Meredith; sister, Joan Kenney. She was predeceased by her husband, Cyril; siblings: Kathryn, Lawrence, Marian, Florence and Helena. Visitation 7-9 pm Sunday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 am Monday at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, with Father Gary MacPherson officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
