SHEPHERD, ALLISON - 1936 - 2014 - Allison Shepherd passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Thursday, September 25, 2014 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born on Grand Manan Island, NB, the son of the late Hughitson and Madeline (Green) Shepherd. He retired from the Royal Canadian Air Force after 25 years of service. After retirement from the Airforce he worked for Michelin Tires in Granton, NS for 10 years. Allison will be sadly missed by his wife of 52 years Geraldine (Abbott), two sons; Hugh (Donna) of Scotsburn, Brian (Yvonne) of Pictou, one daughter Susan Kelly, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four sisters Patricia McNab, Audrey (James) Ingles, Jean (Devern) Green, Christine Lomax, three brothers Murray (Elva), Wendell (Elaine) and Fraser (Lil) as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Allison was predeceased by one daughter Trudy Shepherd and one sister Bernice Thompson.
Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home with visitation on Tuesday, September 30 from 7 to 9 pm. A memorial service will be held at the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 11:00 am followed by a reception in the Garden View Reception Room. Memorial donations in Allison's memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
