YORKE, ROSE ANN - It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Rose Ann Yorke, loving wife of 55 years to Victor Yorke, which occurred on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1942 in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Hilda (Smith) Yorke. Rose Ann was a member of the Vestry of St. Thomas Anglican Church as well as a Red Hatter. She was a Branch Member of Jervis Bay, St. Martin’s and Kennebecasis Legions, Ladies Auxiliary Jervis Bay #53 and Commander of the Royal District. In addition to her husband Victor, she is survived by her children Thomas (Joanne) of Saint John, Laurie (Philip) Drew of Saint John, Paul (Irene) of Hubley, NS; Heather (Denis) Yorke of Oromocto and Paula Yorke of Black River; sisters Margaret “Elizabeth” (George) Bailey of Newport News, VA, Mary-Jo (Wayne) Kimball of Belleville, ON and Shirley (Bill) Mitchell of Mispec; grandchildren Amanda, Stephanie, Kathleen, Megan, Jessica, Michael and Nicholas; great-grandchildren Brayden, Chace, Samantha and Scarlette; several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses of the Palliative Care Unit and Dr. Anthony Reiman for the wonderful care they had shown to Rose Ann.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) on Tuesday September 30th and Wednesday, October 1st from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel Thursday, October 2nd, 2014 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in St. Thomas Cemetery, Black River.
