With his loving wife and family by his side, William Alvin "Bill" Phinney, 55, of Joggins passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 1, 2014. Bill was born on January 4, 1959 a son of the late Aleice Phinney and Hector Vance.
Bill had worked at IMP Aerostructures and Defense as an Aircraft Technician for over 30 years. He loved early morning drives anywhere and everywhere in his caddy. He was a generous and kind man to anyone in need; it could be said that his heart was as big as he. Bill enjoyed his time surrounded by his family and friends.
He will be sadly missed by the love of his life, his wife Lori-Ann (nee Allen) of Joggins; two step-daughters, Kimberly and Jaclyn, both of Amherst; three sisters, Lois (Jimmy) Kaizer, Sarah Burbine and Sheila Cormier; a niece and several nephews, including Philip Burbine, who was like a brother to Bill. He will also be missed by his many wonderful friends.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Gornal Cormier and a nephew, Little Jimmy Kaizer.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, River Hebert (902-251-2877) from where a time of visitation will be held on Friday, October 3, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service for Bill will be held at the Joggins United Church on Saturday at 2 pm with a burial to follow. Those wishing to do so may make donations to the LA Animal Shelter or Ca-r-ma Cat Rescue
