James ‘Tex’ passed away quietly on Sept. 24, 2014 at Fort St. John’s Hospital surrounded by his wife Linda and three daughters, Brenda, Darlene and Pearl.
James was born in Glace Bay April 1936 to Neil and Pearl (MacDonald) MacKeigan who predeceased him, along with his wife Margaret.
James joined the Air Force shortly after school and eight years later moved to the Peace River District where he pursued his interest in business. His love of the community led him into local politics serving as a councillor then mayor helping to bring an ice arena and new health clinic to town.
James or ‘Tex’ as he was known, is survived by his wife, Linda; son, T.J.; stepson, Miguel; daughters, Brenda, Darlene and Pearl; six grandchildren; sister, Lail; brothers, Murdoch, Stuart and Calvin.
Celebration of life service was held Sept. 27 in Hudson’s Hope, B.C.
