HUNTER, ESTELLE EDNA - Surrounded by her loving family Estelle Edna Hunter of Hayesville, NB passed away at York Care Center on Friday October 3, 2014. She was 95. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Emma (MacKay) Munn. Estelle enjoyed knitting and was well known for her homemade socks and quilts. She loved playing cards especially crib; she was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 Ladies Auxiliary, in her early years was a member of the Hayesville Sewing Circle. She was an avid Liberal supporter all her life. Estelle is survived by her children; David (Marie), Bonnie Gillespie, Wilda Greene, Randy (Karen), Ricky (Celeste), Margot (Mike); 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; Chosen brother Sterling Calhoun (Marguerite) as well as cousins nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Logan “Billy” Hunter, children’ Darlene Hovey and Burke Hunter; sons-in-law, Watson Hovey, Ronald Gillespie and Ralph Greene as well as brothers, Clifford and Lloyd.
Visitation will be held on Sunday October 5, 2014 from 2 to 5 PM at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton. The Royal Canadian Ladies Auxiliary will have a tribute service at 2:00. A funeral service will be on Monday October 6, at 11 AM from Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Merrill Slipp officiating. A reception will be held immediately following the service. Interment will be in the Bloomfield Ridge United Cemetery at 2:30 PM. Donations in memory of Estelle may be made to the Fredericton Food Bank or the Bloomfield Ridge United Cemetery.
