Stellarton - Roland Franklin Cameron, age 86, of the Glen Haven Manor, formerly of Stellarton, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2014 in the Manor. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Jack and Dorothy (Williams) Cameron. He was an electrician at Trenton Works before moving to the U.S.A. He attended the Institute of Management Education, Boston, Mass., before going to work for Insulating Fabricators of New England. He owned and operated his own Flower Nursery before moving to Florida where he enjoyed bowling, shuffle board, hunting and fishing. After returning to Pictou County, he worked for Clarence Porter for a number of years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Stellarton. He is survived by his wife, Helen (Clarke); daughter, Barbara Cameron Aube (Jeremie), Florida; son, Kenneth (Gi), Massachusetts; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brother, Gordon (Carmilla), Stellarton. He was predeceased by sister, Joan Reade, brother, Ralph and two in infancy. Visitation 7-9 pm Tuesday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow, from where funeral service will take place at 2 pm Wednesday with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Burial will be in Church Brook Cemetery.
