At Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, of Carol Ann Gillis, of Birch Hill aged 59 years, beloved wife of David Gillis. Born in O’Leary on Oct. 25, 1954, daughter of Mary (MacIsaac Costello) Stewart and the late Ephriam Costello. Cherished mother to Charlene Gillis, Calgary, Alta.; Sherry (Mark) Tkach, Calgary, Alta; Janna Gillis, (Jessie Vincent- Herscovici), Montreal; Adam (Tori) Gillis, Gananoque, Ont.; Linsday Gillis (Kathleen Brennan), Ottawa; and Scott (Cora) Gillis, Calgary. Loving Grandma to Fletcher, Forrest, Bradley, Annalise, Della, Ephrem, Mae, Ruby and Thea. Carol is also survived by her sisters and brother: Judy Costello (Steve Tregoning), West Point; Colleen (Rex) Eveleigh, Aurora, Ont.; John (Sabrina) Costello, Brae; Kim (Steve) MacPhail, Charlottetown; Katrina (Allan) James, Knutsford; Amanda Dean (Jonathan) Hyde, Cornwall; stepfather Laurence Stewart; mother-in-law Lottie Gillis; sisters and brothers-inlaw: Teresa (Roger) Debaie, Calgary; William (Geraldine) Gillis, Waverley, N.S.; Patricia (Keith) Winchester, Miscouche; Anne (Brian) Knowlton, Cole Harbour, N.S.; June (Glen) Ellis, East Bideford; Gail Gillis (Rick), Russell, Ont.; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Carol was predeceased by her father, father-in-law Ralph Gillis, and brother-in-law Thomas Gillis. Resting at the Ferguson Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel with visiting hours Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, Oct. 8, until 10 a.m. then to St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Grand River for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Carol to the Prince County Hospital Foundation (Oncology Unit) would be appreciated.
