Jeanne McLaughlin

McLAUGHLIN, JEANNE - It is with heavy hearts we announce the death of Jeanne McLaughlin of Fredericton, NB which occurred at the Shannex Thomas Hall, Fredericton, NB on October 5th, 2014. Born on July 16th, 1928 in Caplan, QC, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Ernestine (Chapados) Dugas and the wife of the late Frank McLaughlin. Jeanne’s greatest treasure in life was the precious time she spent with her family, her friends and her cherished grandchildren. The family cottage at Davidson Lake was Jeanne’s special place that gave her peace and great joy. Many fond memories of the lake will live on through her children and grandchildren. In her younger years, Jeanne dedicated a great deal of her life caring for her mother and father. As a result of her ever-giving spirit, she became a regular volunteer at Pine Grove Nursing Home, caring for her father and many other residents. It is often said a life well lived is evident in the legacy one leaves behind. Jeanne’s life was an inspiration to all her knew her. Her impact will live on through the lives of the loved ones she leaves behind. The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude and appreciation to the entire Shannex family who so lovingly cared for Jeanne over the past few years. The love you expressed over the past few weeks and days will forever rest in our hearts. Jeanne is survived by her children, Anne Smith (Dennis) of Fredericton, Peter McLaughlin (Misty) of Fredericton, Charles McLaughlin (Heather) of Victoria, BC, Mona Dahn (Roger) of St. Andrew’s, Paul McLaughlin (Buffy) of Fredericton; grandchildren, Sarah, Suzanne (Ed), Nicole Smith, Jordan and Benjamin McLaughlin, Dustin and Jessica Dahn, Brooke, Amanda and Dax McLaughlin and Brittany Mahoney (Robert); three great-grandchildren; Owen, Camden and Emily; siblings, Yolande Morin of Quebec, Jacqueline Dubrule (Marc) of Montreal, QC, Paul Dugas (Yvette) of St. Lambert, QC, and Charles Dugas (Suzanne) of St. Nicolas, QC. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank; her parents and her sister, Mariette.
Visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 8th, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Ste.-Anne-des-Pays-Bas Catholic Church on Thursday, October 9th, 2014 at 12:00 noon with Fr. Donald Savoie as celebrant. Interment will be in the Hermitage Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial tributes in Jeanne’s memory may be made to War Amps Champs Program or Canadian Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Dementia Society would be appreciated by the family.
