It is with heartfelt sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Daphne England on Monday, Oct. 6, 2014 at the Glace Bay Hospital with loving family at her side.
Born in Newfoundland, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Fanny (Mercer) Ellis.
Daphne was a member of Bethel Pentecostal Church in Glace Bay, Meals on Wheels, Lodge-LOBA, and also collected for the Cancer Society.
She is survived by son, Weldon (Darlene); daughters, Frances (George) and Irene (Jake); grandchildren, Jason, Joel (Christy), Jennifer (Lorne) Budden, Janetlee (Shawn) Hiscock, Richard (Ronalda) MacDonald, John (Amanda), Kelly (Ian) O’Neill; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Cailyn, Megan, Braelee, Aaliyah, Shawn-Tiffany, Joshua, Logan, Hadden, Lynaya, Connor; sister, Irene (Jack) Ellis, Nfld.
Besides her parents, Daphne was predeceased by her husband, John and son, Richard.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay. A memorial service will take place Friday, Oct. 10, 2014 at 11 a.m. in Bethel Pentecostal Church, Reserve Street, Glace Bay, Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.
