JONAH, HOWARD W. - Howard W. Jonah, 75, of Peoples Park Tower, Moncton, passed away suddenly at his residence on Monday, October 6, 2014. Born in Hillsborough, he was the son of the late Gesner and Martha (Leaman) Jonah. Howard was a former employee of the CNR Hump Yard, Moncton and a retired driver for Mackie Transport, Oshawa, ON. He was very much an outdoors person who enjoyed hunting and fishing; was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan, enjoyed watching the Grand Ole Opry, listening to old country music (Faron Young) and socializing with his family and friends. Howard will be sadly missed by his children, Ross Jonah of Beamsville, ON, Vince Jonah of Grimsby, ON, Tammy Scholman (John) of Dunnville, ON, Michele Evans (Ray Killam) and Stacey Gagnon, both of Moncton; precious grandchildren, Rachel, Justin, David, Jessica and Madison; sister, Gwena Lewis of Windsor, ON; brothers, Blair of Hillsborough and Henry (Shirley) of Lower Coverdale; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Gesner Jr.; sisters, Geraldine, Margaret and infant sister, Thelma.
Resting at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) with no visiting hours by family request. A Celebration of Life Service for Howard will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 11:00 am, with Pastor Scott Ryder officiating. Refreshments following the service in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. Interment, Gray’s Island Cemetery, Hillsborough.
