MILLER, Howard Buntain -Age 75, of Depot Street, Pictou, passed away October 6, 2014 in the Halifax Infirmary. Born in Upper Stewiacke, he was a son of the late George & Edna (Ogilvie) Miller. He was retired, and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Local 73. An avid hunter, Howard was well liked and known around town for his ability to fix anything. He is survived by his children, Barbara Smith, Jerry, both of Vancouver Island; Howard, Jr., Edmonton and Helen Chudley, Caribou Island; grandchildren, Amie & Megan Smith, Christina & Steven Chudley; brothers, Hallie (Doreen), Newfoundland; Edward (Margie), Calgary and Wilson, Truro. He was predeceased by his wife, Janet (Turple) Miller. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 7-9 PM Thursday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou, from where service will be held 11AM Friday, with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Cremation will follow. Family flowers only please. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.
